The thirteenth season of American Horror Story has concluded following its six-week run, delivering a finale that divided viewers between those eager for more time with the all-star cast and others relieved to see the polarizing season end. The episode picks up after the initial assault on Mr. Nas failed, resulting in the deaths of Ben, Queenie, and Cordelia at the hands of Mr. Nas's supernatural guests.
In a subsequent timeline, Mr. Phibes lures 13 men to Mr. Nas's apartment under false pretenses, serving them cookies laced with crystal meth to kill them. However, Hot Satan intervenes to save one man, leaving the death count at 99.9 percent and destroying Mr. Phibes' physical shell. Enraged, Mr. Phibes declares "Hail Satan" before his head is knocked off and tossed into a fireplace.
Satan later visits Cordelia in her personal hell, where she is forced to euthanize puppies eternally alongside Nan. Despite her refusal to bow, he releases her and transports them to Central Park, claiming he has lost interest in running Earth and ended his bet with God. He offers Cordelia his apartment as an inheritance but warns her to fortify herself for future encounters.
Queenie is revealed to have been pulled from hell by Ben, though the group realizes they have not yet won. While Madison and Ben conceive a baby girl after their contraception fails, Mallory travels through time to visit their ancestors in Salem. She returns having stopped the witch trials and learned a new spell from Sarah Goode, but its success requires an ultimate sacrifice.
The coven summons Ben, revealing he is the 13th Antichrist and the most powerful of his kind. Because his powers are tied to his father's, the Salem spell can only work if Ben kills himself. Despite his recent marriage and newborn child, Ben agrees to the plan after Cordelia assures him Madison will understand.
A battle ensues between the coven and Satan, with Cordelia rejecting the notion that good cannot exist without evil. Ben sacrifices himself, declaring he is no longer afraid of the number 13 and accepting it as his destiny. The spell traps Satan in a painting of the Last Supper, cursing him to remain the 13th guest at the table forever.
The season concludes with Ben's ashes floating into the fireplace toward hell. In a final scene, Mr. Phibes is shown cursed to direct a B-movie titled "Motor Psychos From Hell" for eternity, though he appears delighted by the prospect. Meanwhile, Fiona remains in New Orleans with Constance, while the rest of the coven establishes their new home base in Satan's former apartment in New York City.
