Netflix’s recent workforce reductions have reached its UK operations. Around 2% to 3% of the several-hundred-person London office have reportedly been laid off, according to information reported by Deadline. The departures include Anna Mallett, who served as Netflix’s VP of Production for the UK and EMEA, as well as employees in areas including public relations and marketing.

Mallett joined Netflix a little over five years ago and oversaw work across television and film productions in the UK and EMEA. Her tenure coincided with a period of notable regional success for the streamer, including Baby Reindeer, Adolescence, later seasons of Money Heist and the spin-off Berlin.

Before joining Netflix, Mallett was CEO of ITN, the company that produces news programming for ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. She had previously been Group COO and Managing Director of Production at BBC Studios.

The UK redundancies follow Netflix’s announcement several weeks earlier that it would eliminate 1,000 positions, representing about 6% of its global workforce. Product, technology, legal and human resources teams were among those most affected. The cuts also included senior departures such as content chief Bela Bajaria and film boss Dan Lin. Peter Rice, who was born in the UK, has replaced Bajaria.

Netflix has been dealing with slower growth and viewing figures, alongside a decline in its stock value. The Ankler was the first outlet to report Mallett’s departure.
