Disney Night brought the eight remaining couples on Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars into the competition’s final stretch, with each pair performing twice: once individually and again as part of a team dance. The contestants danced to songs from Disney productions including Hercules, Peter Pan, Aida, Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Hamilton, Beauty and the Beast and Tangled. Broadway performer Cynthia Erivo joined the ballroom as a guest commentator.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson earned 40 out of 40 for their jazz routine to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins. Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy also received a perfect score for their quickstep to “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, their first top score of the season.
Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach scored 37 for their samba to “Under the Sea,” including a 10 from Derek Hough. Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov received 34 for their quickstep to “A Star Is Born,” while Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik scored 33 for their contemporary dance to “Easy as Life.” Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa also earned 33 for their paso doble to “Satisfied.” Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas scored 32 for their jive, as did Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold for their waltz.
The team round produced the night’s other perfect score. Team Slaytopia, dancing to “Zoo” from Zootopia 2, earned 36 points. Team Wildcats followed with a routine set to “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical and scored 40.
Stiles and Sosa were eliminated. Shum secured immunity for the following week after he and Dewan both earned perfect individual scores; their totals across the first eight weeks were compared, with Shum finishing one point ahead. The next episode is set to feature Grammy Night and return to the show’s regular Tuesday time slot.
