FilmLA has extended its Low Impact Permit Pilot Program through April 30, allowing eligible small and independent productions in Los Angeles to continue receiving lower-cost permits. The program offers average savings of approximately $1,000 per permit.
Since launching in April, the pilot has issued more than 400 permits to productions with minimal impact on nearby residents. Its participants have included online content, short films, music videos, photography, documentaries, scripted features, commercials and television projects.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said the initiative had saved local productions more than $400,000 by reducing permit costs and administrative hurdles. FilmLA provides applications and the full eligibility requirements, including covered locations and filming activities, on its website.
