A first-look image shows Pierfrancesco Favino as late Fiat-Chrysler executive Sergio Marchionne in Falcon, a biopic directed by Marco Bellocchio. The image was taken at Turin’s historic Mirafiori plant, where the film is in production.

RAI Cinema International Distribution, which has taken on sales for the project, plans to introduce it to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market. The film follows Marchionne’s efforts to revive Fiat in the 2000s and its merger with the struggling U.S. automaker Chrysler.

Falcon opens in 2004, when Fiat is close to collapse following the death of longtime chief Gianni Agnelli. The story depicts Marchionne’s drive to restructure the company and his relationship with Agnelli’s heir, John Elkann, played by Louis Garrel, as well as his battle to save Chrysler from bankruptcy.

The film examines the public recognition Marchionne gained through his business decisions alongside their personal cost. The cast also includes Benedetta Cimatti and Barbara Ronchi, with Valeria Bruni Tedeschi appearing in a participating role.

Bellocchio wrote the screenplay with Ludovica Rampoldi, Andrea Di Stefano and Stefano Rulli, with Oliviero Del Papa also contributing. 01 Distribution will release the film in Italy.
