Microdrama platform FlareFlow is scheduled to launch in Thailand on November 2 via AIS Play, the entertainment service provided by Thai telecom operator Advanced Info Service (AIS). This strategic partnership was brokered by Rock Networks, a Singapore-based distributor acting as FlareFlow's exclusive partner for telco and OTT integration across Asia. The vertical video service, owned by COL Group, will be available to subscribers for THB39, approximately $1.15, per month.
Upon launch, AIS Play users will access a dedicated FlareFlow section featuring curated series in English, Chinese, and Korean, all equipped with Thai subtitles. The content lineup spans romance, drama, fantasy, and reality genres, alongside a selection of LGBTQ+ titles. Featured launch titles include the English-language series "From Janitor to Mrs Billionaire," the Chinese production "Rise of Aurora's Fallen General," and the Korean Boys' Love series "My Team Leader Is Working Late Again." Additionally, the slate includes "SupermodelMe: Make It or Break It," a vertical-format reality contest franchise hosted by Thai TV personality Cindy Bishop.
Timothy Oh, general manager of COL Group International and chief marketing officer of FlareFlow, highlighted Thailand as a creative and culturally influential market in Southeast Asia. He stated that the collaboration aims to make premium vertical entertainment accessible to Thai audiences at an affordable price point, leveraging COL Group's extensive content library and industry experience. The initiative also seeks to introduce global stories while laying the groundwork for future collaborations with local Thai creators and producers.
Rock Networks negotiated the commercial terms with AIS and will manage the integration, launch execution, and co-marketing efforts. Beatrice Lee, CEO of Rock Networks, described AIS Play as the ideal home for FlareFlow's entry into the region, noting that Thailand is the first of several markets where the platform will be introduced to telco and OTT partners across Asia.
COL Group, an early mover in the microdrama sector in China and the U.S., has released over 5,000 series supporting 14 languages and claims more than 50 million registered users globally. This Thai expansion is part of the company's "Vertical 2.0" strategy, which aims to elevate production values and diversify formats to include reality, documentary, and drama beyond standard microdramas. Beyond distribution, AIS and FlareFlow plan to explore local content development, localization, and new mobile entertainment formats for Thailand and the wider Southeast Asian region.
As of June 2026, AIS reported a customer base of 53.9 million across its businesses, including 47.1 million on its 5G mobile network and 5.3 million on its fixed broadband service. This follows a previous partnership in April where microdrama platform ReelShort entered Southeast Asia through AIS.
