Jennifer Connelly has a small, easy-to-miss role in the fifth episode of Marvel’s “VisionQuest.” She voices D.E.E.D.E.E. in “Firewall,” adding another character to the series’ growing collection of Marvel connections.

The appearance is notable in part because Connelly is married to “VisionQuest” star Paul Bettany. It is also a return to a role in the Marvel world: the comics’ D.E.E.D.E.E. is an artificial intelligence created by Tony Stark and assigned to his private laboratory aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. In the episode, Connelly’s contribution appears to be limited to a single line.

This is not Connelly’s first Marvel project. She played Betty Ross, Bruce Banner’s love interest, in 2003’s “Hulk.” After Marvel rebooted the character in 2008, Liv Tyler took over the role. Connelly later voiced Karen, the AI in Peter Parker’s Spider-Man suit, in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Her screen credits also include “The Rocketeer,” based on a comic-book character, as well as “Snowpiercer” and “Alita: Battle Angel,” both adapted from illustrated works.
