John Travolta will receive a lifetime achievement award at the 44th Torino Film Festival, where his directorial debut, “Propeller One-Way Night Coach,” is also scheduled to screen. The film’s appearance will be its second at an international festival, following its out-of-competition premiere at Cannes in May.

Festival artistic director Giulio Base praised Travolta’s influence across generations and genres. The festival cited films including “Saturday Night Fever,” “Grease,” “Pulp Fiction,” “Get Shorty,” “Face/Off” and “Hairspray” as part of his career.

Adapted from Travolta’s 1997 children’s book, “Propeller One-Way Night Coach” has been streaming on Apple TV since May 29. The story follows Jeff, a young aviation enthusiast, and his mother on a cross-country flight to Hollywood during aviation’s golden age.

The Torino Film Festival will run in Turin from Nov. 24 to Dec. 2. This is the third edition led by Base.
