Jonathan Rhys Meyers is returning to vampire fiction with Pretty Kill Machine, a new romance adapted and directed by Matthew Wilder. Meyers, who previously played Dracula for NBC and Sky, will portray the man who falls in love with Vee, the film’s central character.
Set in and around Joshua Tree, California, the story follows Vee, a supernatural being who has existed since before recorded history. She feeds on blood and souls while moving between a hotel bar and a glass-walled desert lair. Her long reign is put at risk when she falls in love for the first time.
David Hillary and Yariv Lerner are producing the film. Quantify, an international sales and distribution company founded by Nu Boyana Studios, Dark Matter Studios, Government Island and Film Forge Media, is launching worldwide sales ahead of the AFM.
Lerner said the company expects buyers to respond to Wilder’s world and Meyers’s role, and that it plans to present the film to the market at AFM.
