Dancing with the Stars sent one couple home during its Disney Night episode, with Julia Stiles and professional partner Ezra Sosa eliminated from Season 35. Eight pairs remained at the start of the night, with three weeks left in the competition after Monday’s show.
Stiles and Sosa performed a paso doble to “Satisfied” from Hamilton and received 33 out of 40 from the judges. The recap described the routine as an improvement on the previous week, but said it did not demonstrate the technical command Stiles would need to win the competition.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson earned 40 out of 40 for their jazz routine to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins. Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy also scored a perfect 40 for their quickstep to “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast.
The evening’s team dances featured appearances from co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough. Team Wildcats, including Shum, Dewan and Connor Wood, scored a perfect 40, beating Team Slaytopia.
Other scores included 37 out of 40 for Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach’s samba, 34 for Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov’s quickstep, 33 for Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik’s contemporary dance, and 32 each for Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas’s jive and Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold’s waltz. All were safe.
