Kate Mara, Leslie Mann, Ashton Kutcher and Billy Eichner are set to star in Home Shopper, a dark comedy directed by Tilman Singer. The film is based on Dev Patel’s 2018 Sundance short of the same name, whose screenplay was written by Ryan Farhoudi from a story by Leigh Whannell.
Mara plays Penny, a woman seeking an escape from a stifling marriage through the Home Shopping Network. She joins the network while co-host Cybil, played by Mann, is away, and becomes captivated by its charismatic host, Willy, played by Kutcher. When Penny’s controlling husband James discovers her secret, her obsession takes a murderous turn. Cybil’s pursuit of revenge and a rising body count complicate Penny’s attempt to cover her tracks.
