Neve Campbell says she will return as Sidney Prescott in Scream 8, although the film remains in development and does not yet have a director. Speaking to the Associated Press, Campbell said the project was “in the pipeline” and added: “I can’t tell you anything about Scream 8. I’ll be in it.”
Campbell appeared in six of the seven previous Scream films, sitting out 2023’s Scream VI. She returned for Scream 7, in which Sidney is married and her daughter, Tatum, becomes a Ghostface target. The film also brought back franchise cast members Courteney Cox and Matthew Lillard.
The report says Lilla and Nora Zuckerman are writing the eighth film. The sisters have served as showrunners on Poker Face and worked as writers and co-executive producers on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, Fringe and Prodigal Son.
