Piers Morgan said the Iran war and its economic consequences could be a major factor in the US midterm elections, as Piers Morgan Uncensored prepared to host a four-hour live special from Washington, DC. Morgan and Uncensored CEO Rashida Jones spoke about the broadcast and the show’s plans in an interview with Deadline.

Morgan predicted that Democrats could make significant gains, saying he would be surprised if there were not a “big Democrat wave” and that he expected Republicans to lose the House. He also cautioned that Donald Trump’s unpredictability makes voter behavior difficult to forecast.

Morgan identified the economy as the central issue, linking its performance to the conflict with Iran. He argued that the US economy would be doing better, and gas prices would be lower, if the US and Israel had not attacked Iran in February. If Republicans lose both chambers of Congress, Morgan said, he believed the decision to attack Iran and its economic fallout would be responsible.

The special is Uncensored’s first four-hour live election broadcast. Jones described the midterms as an important political event and a chance to prepare for the 2028 general election. She said the company chose to invest in coverage from Washington because that is where the story is centered.

Morgan said the program would prioritize what the results mean rather than overwhelm viewers with statistics. Jones added that the show would use the same Associated Press results feed as other networks, while offering its own analysis, perspective and context.

The interview also addressed Uncensored’s expansion beyond YouTube. Jones said the company is considering ways to distribute its programming through advertising-supported and subscription services, fast channels and licensing arrangements. She confirmed that Uncensored has a licensing deal with Skydance’s Channel Five in the UK and is in discussions in other territories. Morgan said the company also planned to stream the election special on X.

Morgan pointed to the show’s interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as an example of its growing reach. He said Zelensky chose to give his only on-camera interview during a London visit to Uncensored. The company has also broadened its programming with franchises including Royals, History Uncensored and Football Uncensored.
