Shantel VanSanten will return to the CBS series FBI for a one-night-only appearance in an upcoming episode of Season 9. In this guest spot, she will reprise her original role as Special Agent Nina Chase and share scenes with John Boyd, who portrays her small-screen husband Stuart Scola as a current series regular.
VanSanten previously left the show as a series regular during the sixth episode of Season 5, titled "Double Bind." Her first return occurred in the February 23rd episode of Season 8, "Confetti," where her character and Scola became engaged and held a low-key wedding at City Hall with their son Dougie and loved ones.
The actress will next appear in Episode 7, titled "Posterity." The plot centers on the murder of an online influencer, leading the team to discover video footage of a criminal on the Most Wanted list captured by one of their cameras. Special Agent Nina Chase joins the team to intercept the suspect before he disappears.
The episode "Posterity" is scheduled to air on Monday, November 16, from 8:00 to 9:00 PM ET/PT. It was written by Jake Tinker and directed by Milena Govich. The series continues to follow the inner workings of the New York field office criminal division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as they work to keep New York City and the country safe.
The cast also includes Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana De La Garza, and Juliana Aidén Martinez.
