Belgian supermodel Rose Bertram has shared exclusive insights into her upcoming feature documentary, A Girl Like Rose, which offers an intimate look at both her professional trajectory and her family life. Production on the project has officially wrapped after being filmed over a six-year period. The film is directed by Jonathan de Jong under his Amsterdam-based banner, SUPER7EVEN Productions.
Bertram described the experience of reviewing the footage as emotionally intense, noting that watching the film felt like seeing her life flash before her eyes. She explained that the process brought buried emotions and traumas from years past back to the surface. The documentary captures the glamour of her modeling career in locations such as Cannes, Ibiza, and Los Angeles, while also delving into the challenges she faces navigating her relationship with her mother, Maria, amidst the impact of addiction.
The supermodel, who broke through as a teenager and has worked with major brands including H&M, L’Oréal, AP, and Sports Illustrated, expressed that sharing these long-held secrets feels both incredibly proud and vulnerable. She stated that the film highlights the difficulty of maintaining love when addiction threatens a relationship, yet she hopes her openness will help others facing similar struggles feel less alone.
Bastiaan Brand served as the creative producer for the project, with Bob Thole composing the score. Distribution rights are being handled by MN Media for the Netherlands and High Mass for Belgium. The feature documentary is scheduled for release in 2027.
