Gigi Perez’s “Favor” is described as a personal song shaped by grief and the desire to reconnect with loved ones who have died. The Smashing Pumpkins released “Black Stars” on October 15. The track was selected with producer Butch Vig after the band was invited to create an original song for the film.
The album is scheduled to arrive on November 13, one week before The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping reaches theaters on November 20. The film is based on Suzanne Collins’ books and follows Haymitch Abernathy during the 50th Hunger Games and the second Quarter Quell.
