Tovah Feldshuh, who portrays Bina, the mother of Adam Brody's character Rabbi Noah Roklov in the Netflix romantic comedy 'Nobody Wants This,' has publicly clarified the atmosphere on set. In response to claims that tensions are emerging among the cast due to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, Feldshuh took to Threads to deny any deterioration in working relationships. She emphasized that while profound differences of opinion exist, they are not translating into rising tensions or affecting the production environment.
Feldshuh stated clearly that these disagreements will not be brought onto the set, expressing her enjoyment of filming and hope for a fourth season renewal. The controversy stems from Brody's September interview with GQ, where he described the situation in Gaza as genocide and voiced his support for a free Palestine. His comments sparked a divergence of views within the show's creative circle, including Feldshuh and creator Erin Foster.
Feldshuh previously told The New York Post that accusing Jewish people of genocide is comparable to tactics used by Hitler, arguing that it wrongly turns victims into perpetrators. Meanwhile, creator Erin Foster described the set as resembling a dinner table where debate and disagreement occur naturally. Foster noted that while she loves Brody, she also disagrees with his stance, framing such differences as acceptable within their work environment. Despite these public disagreements, the show has not yet addressed the conflict in its narrative, though Foster has indicated there is more story to tell even as a fourth season remains unconfirmed.
