The Tony Awards have extended their broadcast agreement with CBS through 2032. The deal was announced Wednesday by the network and the awards’ producers, the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League.
The ceremony has aired on CBS for 48 years, beginning in 1978. The 80th annual Tony Awards are scheduled to broadcast live to both coasts on CBS on Sunday, June 13, and will also stream on Paramount+ Premium in the United States.
American Theatre Wing President and CEO Heather Hitchens and Broadway League President Jason Laks said in a joint statement that they were pleased to continue the partnership and looked forward to the awards’ 80th anniversary. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach said the network was glad to extend its relationship with the two organizations and continue showcasing Broadway performances and talent.
Further details about the 80th ceremony are expected in the coming weeks. Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall and Jack Sussman are set to return as producers for the 2027 show, with Kapoor and Levine Hall as co-showrunners. Patrick Menton and Rob Paine will co-executive produce, and Menton will also serve as head of talent.
