A24’s You Can See Everything finished as the domestic box-office leader over the Halloween weekend, edging out Warner Bros. and DC’s Clayface after initial estimates had suggested the genre film would take the top spot.
The three-hour documentary, co-directed by Lance Oppenheim and featuring Nathan Fielder and Elizabeth Holmes, collected $11.44 million over the three-day weekend. Its strongest day was Sunday, when it grossed $4.296 million, a 19% increase over Saturday. The film earned $3.56 million on Friday and $3.58 million on Saturday, bringing its running domestic total to $64.7 million.
Clayface finished with $11 million, including $3.4 million on Sunday, down 20% from Halloween Saturday. That result was above Warner Bros.’ internal expectation of $2.8 million for Sunday. The film remains the worldwide leader in its second weekend, with $23.5 million for the frame and a domestic total of $44.7 million.
Earlier estimates had placed Clayface ahead by between $200,000 and $500,000. Warner Bros. initially reported a $10.4 million domestic weekend for the film, while A24 reported $10.6 million for You Can See Everything. The final figures gave the documentary the narrow advantage.
Laika’s Wildwood, released theatrically through Fathom Entertainment, ranked third with $8.9 million in its second weekend. The stop-motion animated film fell 27% and reached a running domestic total of $27.3 million. Its $3.7 million Sunday also exceeded the $2.4 million estimate.
Black Bear’s Wicker placed fourth with $4.1 million, bringing its total to $13.2 million. Paramount and Legendary’s Street Fighter followed with $3.2 million in its third weekend and a cumulative domestic total of $53 million.
The overall domestic box office reached an estimated $62.2 million, down 38% from the previous weekend. The result was identified as the third-lowest-grossing weekend of the year, ahead only of the January 23–25 frame at $54.7 million and the February 6–8 weekend at $61.9 million.
