Disrupt Entertainment has acquired all North American distribution rights to Atoman, a North African superhero film, ahead of an international sales campaign at the American Film Market. The Pennsylvania-based company plans a theatrical release on at least 100 screens in early 2027 through AMC Theatres and other exhibitors.

The sci-fi adventure stars French Moroccan singer and rapper Lartiste, born Youssef Akdim, as Hakim, an internationally renowned hacker who discovers his descent from the ancient Atlanteans. When an artifact capable of destroying the world is found in the Atlas Mountains, he must draw on his newly discovered powers to prevent a global disaster.

The cast also includes Samy Naceri, Sarah Perles and Doudou Masto. Directed and produced by Anouar Moatassim, the film was shot entirely in North Africa and is billed as the region’s first homegrown superhero franchise. It premiered at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in 2025, followed by a limited theatrical release in France and a two-week run in Amazon France’s Top 5.

Disrupt is preparing English-language dubs featuring human voice actors. The film’s soundtrack and score were created by Moroccan DJ Van, with music also featuring artists Soprano, Mennel and Benny Adam. Adam’s song “Mok Ya Mok” drew millions of views and listens across radio, online platforms and TikTok in 2026.

The deal was brokered by Disrupt founder Ben Yennie and Alan Green of OneTwoThree Media, who are taking the film to the AFM. Atoman was produced by Moatassim and Aicha Kraus under their Casablanca Pictures banner. Yennie and Bruce Nash of TheNumbers.com coordinated completion funding in 2025.
